The design aims to restore the lost identity of Azbakeya by reintroducing its historic cycle of water and greenery into contemporary housing. It seeks to revive the ecological and social harmony that was lost to urbanization, creating spatial and experiential connections between residents and nature, and reestablishing the balance between the built environment and natural elements that once defined the area.
The project comprises a variety of residential units with a communal zone located on the ground floor. The lower levels are primarily occupied by apartments and studios, while the upper levels consist of high end villa units. The ground floor functions as a communal hub, housing an exhibition space and a library.
The lower levels are constructed using a flat slab structural system, except for the fourth floor, which features a transverse slab designed to support the steel box structures of the upper villas, carried by reinforced concrete columns.
